Happy Valentine's Week! This week in library we read books about loud and quiet animals. One of my favorite books to share is The Very Quiet Cricket by Eric Carle. In the story the cricket can't seem to chirp until the end when I turn the page and the book makes a chirping sound! One student was sure there was a cricket in the book! This book has repetitive text- "The little cricket rubbed his wings together but nothing happened. Not a sound" When you read books with repeating phrases it won't be long before your child has them memorized and is "reading" right along with you. After winter break we will read some counting books!
