October 2 PreK

Today we read one of my favorite books- Alligator Baby by Robert Munsch. Kristen's parents are expecting a baby any minute, but they get lost on the way to the hospital. They have a baby in the zoo, and in all the excitement, they bring home an alligator baby! I enjoy sharing this book because the kids can't wait for my to turn the page to see the different animals that Kristen's parents keep bringing home. Ask your child who finally brought home the people baby from the zoo. I also like this book because the kids can predict what will happen and at the end we discuss what they think happened next. Narrative skills are important in the development of early literacy and when the book is enjoyable it makes it so much fun! Mrs. Pope worked with the students on the computers and next week she will continue with mouse skills. Remember, please return library books on Thursdays!
