The letter of the week is letter "T" so the 3's read books about trains and the 4's read books about toys. This year I decided to read The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper. It is a little long but the kids loved it and were cheering on the blue engine! We then pretended to be trains around the library and finished with the book Down By The Station by Will Hillenbrand.
With the 4's we talked about our favorite toys and then read the book I Lost my Bear by Jules Feiffer. In this book the unthinkable thing has happened- a little girl's favorite teddy bear is missing...where can it be? A fun read aloud and the kids don't guess where the bear is hiding so the ending brings a big smile to their faces. We also read Too Many Toys by David Shannon and pretended to be toys. Several of the kids received their reading award this week in library. Thanks for all your help and keep reading!!!
