G is for Goldilocks. This week in library we looked at the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. After reading the story we used the flannelboard to retell the story. One way to develop early literacy skills is to ask your child to retell the story with you after reading it. When my children were small we would act out the stories using stuffed animals. There is always a way to use beanie babies! (I still use them frequently in the library!) Next week for letter H we will be reading books about hats and houses. The book fair starts on November 30th and will be open in the library through Saturday December 4th. Stop in for coffee, donuts and some shopping. A percentage of the profits from the book fair help our library purchase new books.
