Each year the state of Michigan selects one book to be read to every student and today in library we read the book selected for 2011- Memoirs of a Goldfish by Devin Sicilian. In this story a lonely goldfish finds himself sharing his bowl with a variety of new neighbors- and learns how important it is to help your friends. After reading the book we colored our own goldfish bowl. Your child also received a bookmark and sticker from the Michigan Reads! program. This week they get to use their library card as a shelf marker and choose a book off the library shelves. We sang the "Booky Looky" to help them remember that each book has a special place on the shelf.
