Preschool February 1, 2

This week we had fun reading an "ocean" of books as we explored the letter "O". The 3's read Hooray for Fish by Lucy Cousins and the 4's read Big Al by Andrew Clements. We sang about the fish in the sea and then all of the classes heard The Three Little Fish and The Big Bad Shark by Ken Geist. Last fall I told the story of the 3 little pigs and retold it using the puppet theatre - I was hoping they would connect the two versions of the story(and of course they did because they are so smart!!) Early literacy skills are developed through reading, writing, singing, playing and talking. That is why we always sing in the library, talk about books, play with books by retelling them using flannelboard stories and, of course, read books!! Thanks for continuing to return your books every week!!
