Happy New Year!! It was great to have some time off at Christmas to spend with my family but I missed the staff and students at the ECC. This week in library we are talking about the letter "L".
In the 3's we talked about the concept of big and little by reading a book about animals and looking for "little boy blue". In the 4's we read books about a scary beast- the lion and went on a lion hunt. Books such as "We're Going on a Lion Hunt" are great to read with children because they encourage them to act out the story and predict what comes next through the use of repetitive phrasing. Other books which use this technique include "Goodnight Moon" and "Brown Bear Brown Bear". Next week we will try to keep warm as we read some wintry books!!
