Preschool Nov. 2 and 3

Bedtime in the library is the theme for the week. It is amazing how the kids start yawning after I read a few bedtime books! The 3's had fun reading Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow, after reading the story we sang the song along with the flannelboard. Next we talked about what we do to get ready for bed and read Maisy Goes to Bed by Lucy Cousins and Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat Are You Going to Sleep? by Bill Martin Jr. and Michael Sampson. We finished out library time by playing with scarves as we "got ready for bed". The 4's read one of my kids favorite bedtime books Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. Although this book was written in 1947 it is a timeless classic. Remy visited to tell them about his bad dream and then we read Froggy Goes To Bed by Jonathan London. We finished by playing a guessing game- this is an easy game to play at home, I printed out colored pictures of beds and put a picture of Remy hiding underneath one of them. They each got one turn to try and find Remy. A good game to develop color recognition (you could also do it with a letter on each bed)
