PreK Sept. 28th

Thank you for returning your library books so promptly! The kids are so excited when they get to pick out a new book each week. If your child would prefer to keep their book for more than a week that is fine also, they just won't get another book from the library until the previous book was returned. One of the prek boys stopped me in the hall to tell me that he made sure his little brother didn't play with the book! They are so sweet! This week we talked about the fiction section of the library- I tell them that these are books about things that are written from our imagination- such as a dog driving a car, a dinosaur wearing clothes. This is also the area of the library where they can find many different series of books- Froggy, Clifford, Olivia, Berenstain Bears, and Franklin for example. I read the book Froggy Plays Soccer by Jonathan London and then I showed them how to use their library card as a shelf marker so when they look through the books they can keep them in the right spot. Next week we will talk about the non-fiction area of the library.
