We had a "quiet" day in the library today. The letter of the week is "Q" and both classes read "The Very Quiet Cricket" by Eric Carle. This is a wonderful book about a cricket who can't make a sound- until the very last page when you can hear a cricket chirping. I love to see the expressions on the kids faces when I turn the page. The 3's also read "Little Quack" by Lauren Thompson and we sang a song about 5 little ducks. The 4's read "King Bidgood's in the Bathtub" by Audrey Wood. Next week I will be sending home information about the "Cool Reader" reading promotion which begins March 1st.
