Feb. 5 PreK
It's time for bed in the library this week. Murray the media mouse came dressed in his pajamas this week and we talked together about the night when Murray couldn't fall asleep. He dreamed there was a "CAT" under his bed. We read the Mercer Mayer book "There's An Alligator Under My Bed" and then they drew something that was under their bed. When we read a book together in library and then ask questions about the story or draw a picture extending the story it is a way to improve narrative skills. One way you can do this as a parent is to ask questions before, during or after the story. Another way to help develop this skill is to ask your child to retell the story. Next week we will have our first annual "Library Olympics".
