Feb.12 PreK

Today we had the first ever library olympics. We talked about the different sports that we can see in the Winter Olympics and then read the book Tacky and the Winter Games by Helen Lester. Tacky the penguin books are great for reading aloud- Tacky is an odd bird but a great bird to have around. I love reading the Tacky books and the kids enjoy the funny illustrations and story. Poor Tacky- he swallows the baton during the ice skating relay race. We had a discussion about what a baton is and then we played a few olympic games in the library- one that involved passing a "baton". No library next week due to winter break. Information about the Ice Cream Cool Reader Promotion will be coming home on Feb. 26th.
