Dinosaur, Dinosaur is the focus for our library time this week. The 3's read Dino Pets by Lynn Plourde and then we sang the Dino Pokey - the kids always tell me "Hey, that sounds like the Hokey Pokey"- and they are right! It is amazing how many songs we can sing with that tune!! With all of my classes I read a big non-fiction book Dinosaur, Dinosaur by Byron Barton and then I showed them some dinosaurs and we talked about plant eaters and meat eaters. My early literacy tip of the week- Read to your child!! Find something they love and read books about it with them. Research has shown there is a direct connection between reading aloud and later reading success.
