Mittens, Mittens, Mittens!! This week we read the story The Mitten by Jan Brett. In this story a little boy drops his mitten in the snow and it becomes the home for a variety of animals. After I read the story I retold it using a giant mitten and stuffed animals. Retelling stories helps children understand what they read. Using props found around the home can help children remember and retell stories which is an important part of early literacy. Next week will be reading some silly monkey stories!!
