Preschool 3's & 4's Week of Jan 17

"M" is for monkeys!! This week we read some fun books about monkeys. The 3's listened to 5 Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree by Eileen Christelow and then they helped me sing the song along with the flannelboard. Singing songs together not only helps with phonological awareness, hearing sounds, but they also are an enjoyable way to start developing expressive language, talking! We also read Curious George Goes to the Aquarium and Monkey and Me by Emily Gravett. Monkey and Me is a repetitive book with the phrasing "monkey and me" repeated throughout the book. By encouraging your child to repeat the phrases in a story they are developing narrative skills! The 4's listened to a funny story about Chico Bon Bon the monkey called Monkey with a Tool Belt by Chris Monroe. We also enjoyed singing about 5 little monkeys sitting in a tree and reading Monkey and Me by Emily Gravett.
