Sharing and talking about stories with your child is so very important in the development of vocabulary and reading skills. This week we explored the story of the three little pigs. First I read a different version of the traditional story- The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig by Eugene Trivizas. After reading the story I retell it a different way by performing the puppet show of the Three Little Pigs. We talked about the differences in the two stories and then they had a chance to help me retell it as we discussed what happened first, second, third and at the end of the story. After they checked out books they could use the puppets to retell the story or play a memory game.
