Preschool March 15th

Spring is here- at least it feels that way! This week in library we read books about birds to celebrate the arrival of spring. The 3's read Are You My Mother by P.D. Eastman and Seven Hungry Birdies by Candace Fleming. We then played a game on the flannelboard where they had to try to find the baby bird. The 4's read Seven Hungry Babies by Candace Fleming and then we read another book by the same author Tippy, Tippy, Tippy Hide! This book is a sequel to Muncha Muncha Muncha that we read last week. Hearing the rhythm of language and making the sounds of animals contributes to phonological awareness, a key component of early literacy. These books encourage children to repeat the sounds with you and are fun to share together!
