This week in library I read one of my favorite "scary" halloween books- "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything" written by Linda Williams and illustrated by Megan Lloyd. After listening the story we put on a play and acted out the story. Giving your child props to retell the story helps develop narrative skills. This skill helps children later understand what they read and increases their literacy skills. There will be no library on Nov. 1 but we will meet again on Nov. 8th when we will be reading some bedtime stories. Happy Halloween!
