This week in library we continued talking and learning about the fiction and non-fiction areas of the library. I read the book Alligator Baby by Robert Munsch and illustrated by Michael Martchenko. This book is about a family who has a new baby- there is one problem however, the baby was born at the zoo, not the hospital. When the parents keep bringing back the wrong baby the little girl Kristen goes to the zoo to find the right one. After reading we talked about if this book could really happen, do animals wear clothes, would a mom really have a baby at the zoo and not the hospital? This book is a fiction book. Then they learned about the different sections of the non-fiction area- where to find fairy tales, and books about dinosaurs, outer space, animals, weather, sports and transportation. Next week we will learn about the character of the story.
